At Dog and Cat Dermatology, our goal is to improve the quality of life for pets and their families by providing compassionate and comprehensive care. We understand that each family is unique and work closely with our clients to determine the best treatment plan, using the most effective and current treatments available.
Dermatologic disease is often lifelong, so long-term follow up and care is typically needed to manage the condition. With consideration of each client’s interests and the needs of each individual pet, we work together to find solutions that are in the best interest for the entire family.
Meet Our Team
Christopher Hudec, DVM
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Dermatology
Dr. Christopher Hudec is a board-certified dermatologist with over eight years of specialized dermatology experience. Dr. Hudec graduated in the top of his class at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his clinical year of veterinary school at Purdue University. His career started with a one-year rotating internship at VCA Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle, followed by a three-year dermatology residency at Animal Dermatology Clinic in San Diego, and he has since been helping pets in the Bay Area with their dermatologic needs. In 2024, he opened his private practice, Dog and Cat Dermatology. He looks forward to his continued care of Bay Area pets.
Dr. Hudec credits his love for animals due to his upbringing. Growing up in a house full of animals (eight dogs and two cats!) he learned to love and care for animals at a young age.
Dr. Hudec’s special interests in veterinary dermatology include managing immune-mediated skin diseases and allergic skin conditions. He has authored papers researching reduction of feline stress markers during allergy testing in unfamiliar environments as well as animal reactions to venomous insect stings and the desensitization process to limit future reactions to these venomous insects.
In his free time, Dr. Hudec enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and Somali cat. He loves sports and enjoys playing basketball, golfing, and hiking.
